What stops Waxhall from filing false-positive takedowns against legitimate uses?

Waxhall doesn't file on suspicion alone. Every takedown is gated by a fingerprint match against the master, an ingestion timestamp captured before the suspect stream appeared, and a listener-curve signal that's hard to fake. Collisions go into your Monday roll-up as a draft, not a live ticket — you approve, escalate, or reject from there. Anything you reject is fed back as a negative example so the same artist-context pair never escalates twice.

Does Waxhall actually file the DMCA, or do I sign everything myself?

Waxhall files on your behalf using its standing registered-agent credentials, then sends you the ticket number, the platform's response, and the evidence packet in the same Monday roll-up. For Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and the major aggregators, the platform's standard DMCA channel is open to a registered agent acting in good faith — that's Waxhall, with you as the rights holder of record. You remain the named rights holder on every filing.

Which platforms does Waxhall actually cover?

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube (music + Content ID), Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, and the major UGC mirrors (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook). Coverage is registry-driven: a track on a supported distributor is auto-enrolled the moment you connect Waxhall to your distributor. Anything outside that list is flagged as an unmonitored surface so you know the exact scope of what we are watching versus what we are not.

I already have a label deal — does Waxhall conflict with it?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, no. Waxhall sits below the rights-holder relationship your label already owns and operates only on the monitoring, takedown, and reporting layers your contract does not reserve to the label. Before any takedown is filed we reconcile against the rights registry on the master (label-owned, artist-recouped, or fully independent) so we never file against a sub-licensee the label has already cleared. If your deal assigns takedown authority exclusively to the label, we route the same evidence packet to them and surface the result in your roll-up.
